One of the many topics in the subject material for 10th grade English class was, is and is going to be DEBATE.
Debate can be challenging, supporting or opposing a statement that does not really influence your life or shatter your beliefs. However, several 10th grade students, participants of the Model United Nations AG, were willing to prepare an introduction to this demanding assignment: this was how Mini-MUN found place. Each student represented a country and participated in the discussion concerning the US Embargo on Cuba. Mrs Ebert had asked them to show her class how MUN works. Having held the debate in the classroom, the idea was born to repeat it in front of a larger audience: all 10th graders in the auditorium. Each step during the process of the Committee was explained to the audience of 10th graders. The debate soon heated up and in the end the students were a bit more positive regarding their semester’s debating assignments!
A big thank you to Konstantina and the other MUN members!
